The 7th hi/lo Film Festival presents low budget films made by ingenious, dedicated filmmakers,
demonstrating that you don't need a lot of money to make a hilarious, inspiring, beautiful
film. Working in formats from digital video to 35mm, the hi/lo filmmakers create funny
shorts, animated experimentals, hard-hitting documentaries and wondrous movies that defy
easy description. The subjects covered in the Shorts Programs range from competitive
table setting to Shaquille O'Neal's Irish ancestry, and the directorial influences run
from Wes Anderson to Wim Wenders. Monster Road, the 1st prize winner in the 2004 Slamdance
Feature Documentary competition, illuminates the fantastical world of legendary claymation
filmmaker Bruce Bickford. (Programs approx. 90m).
