The Longest (More-or-Less) Continuously Running Short in San Francisco History!
We can't believe it either, but the crazy little short subject we call "Dishes", which plays before the trailers and feature virtually every night at our theater is turning 25! (You know, the one with the angel returning her dishes to the bin and the monster hands dragging the scofflaw who doesn't down into the bowels of the seatsÖ). That's right, just as our theater turns 28, Dishes is turning 25. While we can't say for certain that no other short has played continuously in SF for this long, we can't think of one. So, join us for Harold and Maude, enjoy some delicious organic popcorn in a wooden bowl and a beverage in a real cup as we celebrate not only our birthday, but the amazing one-quarter-century anniversary of this spunky little short.
To celebrate we are announcing that we are accepting submission of a new digital version of Dishes. We won't be replacing the original, but it would be nice to have a companion piece to play from time-to-time.
A selection of submissions will be played on the Red Vic's birthday, July 25th, before screenings of Harold and Maude.
The winner will be put into regular rotation before evening screenings!
Deadline July 20th
You can submit on DVD or miniDV.
3 minutes, maximum.
Mail to: Red Vic, 1727 Haight St., SF CA 94117, or drop it by the theater box office anytime (you can slip it into the mail slot if we're not open).
