| 8 Women |
Dir. Francois Ozon France 2002
The naughty boy of French cinema, Francois Ozon (Under the Sand, Water Drops on Burning Rocks),
throws Douglas Sirk, Agatha Christie, George Cukor's The Women, and 50's
Technicolor musicals into a blender and comes up with 8 Women. As eight women
converge on a country estate to celebrate the holidays, the master of the house, who happens
to be the only man, is discovered dead. A musical whodunit, where everyone is a suspect and
where in time each woman performs a song to declare her feelings and innocence. Starring the
heavy weights of French cinema including Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Huppert, and Fanny Ardent.
