Dir. Kathy High US 2001
Animal Attraction was inspired by the plight of the filmmaker
who was frustrated by the obnoxious behavior of her cat, Ernie.
As a last resort, she gave in to a friend's suggestion to contact an
animal communicator. This begins her journey with interspecies
telepathic communicator, Dawn Hayman, from Spring Farm CARES,
an animal sanctuary in upstate New York. It is here where
we meet a barnyard of animals whom Dawn communicates with,
including Gulliver the Llama, Breezie the horse and the late
George Kigercat who (believe it or not) designed their new
facility. Dawn is no new-age guru but a down to earth
person who reluctantly accepted her gift as a psychic
communicator. Both the filmmaker and the viewer become
involved in a complex examination of our relationship
to "nature". Animal coummunicator Michele Arnold Limacher
will be speaking at evening screenings. (60m)
