The year is 2071, on the planet Mars - now a cross between Manhattan,
Tokyo and Morocco - when a bio-terrorist attack leaves many in the city
dying from a viral infection. With a huge reward set on the terrorist,
a motley crew of bounty hunters led by the lanky loner Spike Spiegel
set out on a search for the perpetrator. They are led to a foe who was assumed
dead for over ten years, and on the way they encounter political cover-ups
and secret military experimentation. Based on the popular anime television
series of the same name, Cowboy Bebop was originally released in Japan
shortly after the September 11 attack in N.Y. For a genre more inclined to
escapism, the film is eerily similar to our contemporary terrorist fears.
