Bubba Ho-tep
Dir. Don Coscarelli US 2002
Elvis (Bruce Campbell) is alive and not so well, living out his last days in a Texas convalescent home. Things have obviously soured for the King after trading identities with an Elvis impersonator, falling off the stage and breaking his hip. He spends much of his time in a fevered dream of flying cockroaches and musing on an unknown disease of his penis. Elvis befriends another patient, Jack (Ossie Davis), who believes he is JFK, having survived the assassination attempt and been dyed black for his own protection. It turns out that a cursed Egyptian mummy (natch) is visiting the home at night to suck the souls out of the defenseless inhabitants (guess from which orifice). Elvis and Jack realize that there days are numbered and refuse to let the mummy get them into a butt lip-lock without a fight. Bubba Ho-Tep is a buddy movie like you have never seen before. (92m)
