Dir. Hilary Birmingham US 2002 Tully is one of those small independent films that feels right at home in a small independent movie theater. The film focuses on a family of men: a reclusive father, shy younger brother Earl, and Tully - the town heartbreaker. Tully spends most of his time with the local ladies in the back seat or on the hood of his car. The only woman who refuses his advances is Ella, Earl's straight-talking best friend. The discovery of a family secret and his budding relationship with Ella propels Tully to confront the ghosts of the past and his strained relationship with his father. Beautifully crafted by an unknown director and actors, Tully puts you right in rural America and makes you long for a hot summer day, a pull on a Dr. Pepper, a swim in the local pond and a peek inside the family closet.
