Dir. Martin Scorsese US 1980 Voted greatest film of the 1980's by many critics, Raging Bull still packs a punch. Robert DeNiro stars as prizefighter Jake LaMotta, at his professional peak and in middle-aged decline (DeNiro gained over 50 pounds for the role). The cinematography looks like pages out of Life magazine, and the ring-side editing by Thelma Schumaker is incredible. With Joe Pesci and Cathy Moriarty. (128m) |
