Dir. Thomas Riedelsheimer US 2001
Andy Goldsworthy is visual artist from Scotland who has chosen nature as his medium. In this
beautiful and meditative documentary we see him in the process of creating numerous sculptures
and installations from stones, leaves, twigs, snow and ice. Using whatever he finds in remote
locations far from human habitation, he reorganizes natural objects into organic forms that become
part of the landscape. Like film itself, Goldsworthy's art is time-based, often washing away or
melting soon after he's finished it. Set to an excellent score by Fred Frith. (90m)
