In this age of SARS and other communicable diseases, what could be scarier than waking up from a coma to find that the country has been ravaged by a virus that turns people into bloodsucking zombies? That's what happens to Jim (Cillian Murphy) a bike courier who wakes up 28 days after an accident only to find out that London has been evacuated. 28 DAYS LATER begins when a group of animal rights activists release chimps from a research lab. Unknown to them, the chimps have been infected with a virus that causes an uncontrollable rage. Jim thinks he's the last uninfected man on earth until he meets Mark and Selena, two vigilantes who teach him the "do's" and "don'ts" of becoming a zombie. Director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Shallow Grave) creates a truly eerie post-apocalyptic world.
