Dir. Terry Gilliam UK 1985
Terry Gilliam (Monty Python, 12 Monkeys) has created a 1984-ish world of runaway bureaucracy and faulty technology. Jonathan Pryce plays a bureaucrat who tries to fight the system when he becomes obsessed with a spunky, feisty woman (Kim Greist) whom he first sees in his nightly dreams. An excellent balance of slapstick comedy and stunning imagery. Supporting roles by Ian Holm, Michael Palin, and Robert DeNiro. (131m)
