Playing 8/14/07 - 8/15/07 Paprika Satoshi Kon Japan 2006 Director Satoshi Kon (Tokyo Godfathers) brings anime excellence to the big screen in this psychedelic sci-fi adventure. By day, 29-year-old Dr. Atsuko Chiba is a genius research psychotherapist. By night, she is an 18-year-old kick-ass dream detective codenamed 'Paprika' who can enter into people's dreams and synchronize with their unconscious to help uncover the source of their anxiety. A colleague in her research lab has developed a similar technology called the 'DC-MINIÓ that can act as a 'dream deviceÓ to enter and explore people's unconscious thoughts. But before the government can pass a bill authorizing the use of such advanced psychiatric technology, one of the prototypes is stolen and a lab assistant suddenly goes missing, sending the research facility into an uproar. In the wrong hands, the potential misuse of the device could be devastating, allowing the user to completely annihilate a dreamer's personality while they are asleep.
