|
Richard Kelly US 2009 Named by Film Comment as a “must see movie,” The Box is a supernatural psychological thriller by Donnie Darko director Richard Kelly. Based on a short story formerly adapted to be a Twilight Zone episode, the film follows struggling married couple Norma and Arthur (Cameron Diaz and James Marsden). A mysterious stranger appears at their door and presents them with a choice: push a button on a box and receive one million dollars, or face uncertain consequences. But the catch is that by pushing the button someone, somewhere will die. Filled with questions of humanity, morality and general Richard Kelly strangeness, The Box delivers the goods. (115m) |
